Food for Thought
Strangers sit down. Friends stand up.
Food for Thought is a series of dinners that brings Irish chefs together to cook for one night in aid of 3Ts, Turn the Tide of Suicide. It has run since 2017 in some of the best rooms in the country: L'Ecrivain, Locks, Mulberry Garden, Charlotte Quay and Allta.
I started it because my dad died by suicide when I was five. But people assume these nights are sombre, and they could not be more wrong. They are brilliant. The best chefs in Ireland in one kitchen, slagging each other, cooking their hearts out, and a room full of people having a properly good time for a cause that matters. You should walk out feeling better than when you walked in.

Shared tables
Guests share a table with people they haven't met. By dessert, the room is one long conversation.
One service
Every course lands on every table at the same moment. One room, one rhythm.
The cookbook
Forty-nine chefs.
One question.
What dish makes you feel good?
Food for Thought is a giving thing. I take nothing from it: no fee, no royalty, not a cent, and I never will. The chefs give their time for free and every euro goes where it's meant to go.
